Is There Still A Dominant Women’s Tennis Player?

Mirra Andreeva, the next dominant women player?

For a while there, Iga Swiatek looked to be that player. The player no one wants to face; however, recently, she has just not been playing dominant tennis. What first struck me about Aryna Sabalenka was her never say die attitude. However, like Swiatek, I am not feeling that conviction anymore in her game. The question for my tennis followers, which female tennis player will step up and give us a dominant women’s tennis player? Someone who won the match even before she steps on the court. Like the men, the quality of tennis is not as high as in previous eras. Is it just me? These new crops of players are not as hungry!

Will Mirra Andreeva Be The Next Dominant Player?

I watched her match against Aryna Sabalenka, and I am not convinced she played dominant tennis. I take nothing away from Mirra Andreeva’s accomplishment and her game. However, I got the impression that Sabalenka lost her way after the first set. As the number one player, we expected her to figure it out and win in the end. Yet this is what makes tennis so fascinating. It is often the little shifts that produce the biggest results.
