The question though is how much does she have left in the tank against a much fresher opponent. Fellow American [19] Madison Keys will face the resurgent [28] Elina Svitolina, a former top ten player as well.
Shelton Carries The Burden Of American Expectations

Their H2H is tied at 1:1, with Shelton winning their only encounter on hard court. They are much better players now and the Italian has really stepped up his game. [20] Ben Shelton will have to do the same if he wants to get to his second major semifinal. No pressure, but there will be the added burden of expectations of all the American and worldwide fans on his young shoulders. Let’s hope he can bring his best level of play and stay dialed in.
No Australian Open Title This Year For Gauff
Embed from Getty Images[11] Paula Badosa reminded everyone that she was once a top ten player, and she played like that in her match against [3] Coco Gauff. They say pressure is a privilege, but it was a bit too heavy a burden for the American. Badosa now leads their H2H 4:3 with this 7-5, 6-4 victory. Next up for Badosa is the number one ranked player, [1] Aryna Sabalenka. Sabalenka leads their H2H 5:2. It will be interesting to see if the Spaniard will stay committed to defeating Sabalenka.
