Coco Gauff Ends Her 2024 Season With A Bang

Coco Gauff

Coco Gauff will enjoy the down time after winning the WTA Finals trophy, which has traditionally marked the end of the WTA season. While there are still WTA125 tournaments being played, the season is officially over for most of the top hundred players. Players ranked in the top hundred use this brief down time to rest and recharge for the 2025 season. They get a little over a month to get ready for the 2025 season. The United Cup held in Australia (Sydney and Perth), starts on December 27th and marks the beginning of the 2025 season.

Coco Gauff Is The Youngest WTA Finals Champion

Gauff made it to the semifinals of Roland Garros and the Australian Open; however, it is not the same as winning a major title. Thus, Coco Gauff and her team must be ecstatic with the WTA Finals title. Players ranked outside the top hundred are happy to keep playing in these smaller tournaments. They hope to gain enough ranking points to get back into the top hundred. Being ranked in the top hundred allows them to get into the four majors without going through the qualifying rounds. That is the upside. The downside for the lower ranked players is they do not get much of a break and they run the risk of injuries.
