Hailey Baptiste has been toiling away behind the scenes since 2017; however, she is not discouraged that her progress forward has been slow. This season she made great strides, getting through the qualifying rounds of a WTA1000 tournament in China. Baptiste made it to the round of sixteen before she was dispatched by the veteran, Ekaterina Alexandrova.
Hailey Baptiste Capitalized On Her Opportunity
It is a bit late in the season; however, this could be the incentive that she needed. Hopefully she will build on this, and next season she can avoid the qualifying rounds at the more prestigious tournaments. She is still only twenty-two; yet, that window of opportunity can close rather unexpectedly. How high will Hailey Baptiste go?

ATP & WTA Top Ten Ranking Changes
ATP: there were a several changes in the top ten. Taylor Fritz and Andrey Rublev traded places to # 6 and #7, respectively. Casper Ruud moved up one spot to #8. Alex de Minaur climbed two spots to get back into the top ten at #9, replacing Hubert Hurkacz, who fell out of the top ten. The top four players are: [1] Jannik Sinner; [2] Carlos Alcaraz; [3] Alexander Zverev; and [4] Novak Djokovic.
