Sonay Kartal has been toiling behind the scenes in preparation for her golden opportunity. That opportunity came for the British player in Monastir, Tunisia. She made it to the main draw from the qualifying rounds. However, she was not satisfied with just getting to the main draw. The Brit was interested in the title.
Rebecca Sramkova Could Not Defeat Sonay Kartal
Despite being five years her senior, Rebecca Sramkova could not shake the determination of her younger opponent. It was a battle to the end with both players breaking each other; however, Kartal got the final important break to win the match 6-3, 7-5. In addition, Kartal is now in the top hundred at a career high of ninety-six.
