Rebecca Sramkova is taking advantage of the latter part of the season. Honestly, prior to two weeks ago I knew nothing about this Slovakian. At twenty-seven years old she has made it to two consecutive finals. The second final she walked away with her first career WTA singles title. However, Sramkova’s first singles final was last year in Bari. Interesting, she has been on the professional circuit since 2012, which is a testament that perseverance is important for success on any arena.
Sramkova Defeats Veteran Siegemund
At thirty-six years old, Laura Siegemund almost walked away with her third career singles title. However, Sramkova was determined that this third time, she was going to be lucky and claimed the title. Surprisingly, the German could not force a third set and lost the match 4-6, 4-6 to Rebecca Sramkova. Thus, we have the Slovakian as the mover of the week with her performance in Thailand.
