Paula Badosa Is Making Noise Again

Paula Badosa

Paula Badosa was once ranked as high as number two in 2022. What happened? The same thing that has happened to many players before her. She got injured and struggled with her back for most of the 2023 season. The Spaniard was born in NYC, trains in Barcelona, but lives in Dubai. Her favorite tournament is the US Open. I wonder why?

Paula Badosa Wins DC Title

There are always opportunities to win big, especially when the top ranked players are not in the draw. The key is to capitalize on those opportunities, which Paula Badosa did in Washington, DC. The highest ranked player that she had to overcome was Liudmila Samsonova, who was ranked thirteen. Of the five matches the Spaniard played, two went to three sets. Badosa was lucky to get past Emma Raducanu in the quarterfinals. She defeated Marie Bouzkova 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 to capture the Citi DC Open title.
