Alexei Popyrin Wins First Masters In Canada

Alexei Popyrin

Alexei Popyrin turned professional in 2017, and a lot was expected of him. Isn’t that always the case. We expect players to get to their highest level almost immediately and forget that they must grow into their game. I have watched him play and thought he had a big serve but needed to add some more weapons to his arsenal to be a legitimate contender. Apparently, he has done just that, and his reward was winning the biggest title to date of his career, the ATP Masters 1000 Banque National. Congratulations Pop!

Alexei Popyrin Gets To A Career High

Victory always brings rewards, which for tennis players include financial, ranking, psychological, and social. Alexei Popyrin won his first title in 2021. In 2023, he won his second title, which surprisingly was on clay. Now the question inevitably is will he continue to build on this? I hope so, it’s nice to see some different players making their way up the rankings.
