Jasmine Paolini Breaks Through The Top 10 Barrier

Jasmine Paolini

Jasmine Paolini may not have won the title at Roland Garros, but she got a major boost to her ranking, which propelled her into the top ten for the first time in her career. Paolini comes in a small package at just 5’4”; however, she packs a powerful punch with her forehand. It should come as no surprise that she made it to the final, because her favorite surface is clay. What better place to showcase her love of clay than at the biggest clay event of the season?

Jasmine Paolini Gets To A Career High

Jasmine Paolini fought to get to the final. Three of her seven matches went to three sets. Her easiest match by score was in the semifinals against the rising teenage star, Mirra Andreeva. However, her poorest result came in the final, where she needed to elevate her game. Nerves did not help her cause; yet her history against the top seed has been very lopsided. Paolini has never won more than three games against Iga Swiatek.
