Jack Draper Wins First Career Title On Grass

Jack Draper

Jack Draper is still only twenty-two. Sometimes you hear about a player for a while before they break through, and you can lose sight of their age. He already has paid his dues with injury on the tennis courts. In 2021, Draper ruptured a ligament in his ankle, which derailed his career. Thus, it is nice to see him back healthy and performing well. In two of his five matches he lost the first set and came roaring back, fighting to win the match. Winning the title in Stuttgart also gave him a career high ranking of thirty-one.

Is Jack Draper The Next Big British Star?

Someone has to fill that gap left by Andy Murray. The Spaniards are lucky. Carlos Alcaraz is holding his own and has filled the gap left by Rafael Nadal. Though he will never be Nadal, at least he is winning some big titles. Draper has a huge serve and is extremely competitive. The only thing stopping him from being the next big British star is his body. Being a top ten player week in and week out demands a lot, not only physically, but emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Everyone wants to be a top ten player; however, everyone does not have what it takes.
