Aryna Sabalenka Served Bagels To Tsurenko

Aryna Sabalenka serve bagels

Bagels served to Tsurenko by the number two seed was a bit surprising. [2] Aryna Sabalenka defeated [28] Lesia Tsurenko 6-0, 6-0. At this stage in a major, it had to be physical, because I know Tsurenko is a fighter. In addition, she has beaten Sabalenka before and pushed her in the second set in 2019. Although those results were before Sabalenka was ranked this high, Tsurenko knows how to neutralize the power game of Sabalenka.

Bagel Served To Parks By Gauff

[4] Coco Gauff defeated fellow American Alycia Parks 6-0, 6-2. She showed her a lot of love in the first set and never faced a break point. When you lose this badly against a top ranked player it can go two ways: you realize how much further your game must develop and you are excited by the challenge; or you are totally discouraged and fear the challenge. I hope Parks will use this as an opportunity to improve her game. Amanda Anisimova continues to bring it. She defeated Paula Badosa 7-5, 6-4. Remember that Anisimova is still young at twenty-two, she can turn her career around with a deep run here. [12] Taylor Fritz defeated Fabian Marozsan 3-6, 6-4, 6-2, 6-2.

Sinner Also Served A Bagel To His Opponent

[4] Jannik Sinner was not interested in delaying the inevitable; he knocked out [26] Sebastian Baez 6-0, 6-1, 6-2. [5] Andrey Rublev defeated American [29] Sebastian Korda 6-2, 7-6(6), 6-4. Korda still has not found the secret to disrupting Rublev’s game.It appears that the American is not fully committed to tennis at the moment. A pity, he has so much potential; however, if you are not willing to adjust or grind for the victory, the potential will never be displayed to the world.

[10] Beatriz Haddad Maia lost to a qualifier. Maria Timofeeva won 7-6(7), 6-3. I do not consider this a real upset as Haddad Maia’s game has been a tad sporadic lately. American [16] Ben Shelton fell in five sets to [20] Adrian Mannarino 6-7(4), 6-1, 7-6(2), 3-6, 4-6. A bit surprised that Shelton let his lead slip away and I never saw a sense of urgency from him in the fifth set. He did fight back from 2-5 down in the fifth set, but he should not have allowed it to get to this stage. Perhaps Shelton needs to bring back his telephone celebration.

Special Mention: Mirra Andreeva continues to grab the spotlight. However, she had to battle for the victory against Diane Parry 1-6, 6-1, 7-6 (10-5)
