Sara Sorribes Tormo Has A Different Perspective

Sara Sorribes Tormo

Sara Sorribes Tormo did not play Roland Garros in 2022 because of a cracked rib. Upon her return to tennis later that year, pain in her left foot was a precursor to another injury. However, despite the pain Sorribes Tormo continued to play until the pain was unbearable. An MRI revealed a fractured bone in her left foot, which resulted in crutches and a walking boot for three months.

Our Identity Is Essential In Knowing Our Purpose

It is so interesting to me that many people do not know who they are. Instead, they define themselves by their careers or their possessions in life. We are not our positions, possessions or the people and places that are in our lives. We are each unique individuals with a purpose and a calling. Yet neither our purpose nor calling is our identity either.

Sara Sorribes Tormo Discovers Her Identity

Sara Sorribes Tormo has changed her perspective after injury gave her time away from the court to examine her story. It’s nice to see she is still fiercely competitive, yet with a calmness that accepts reality. She did not get discouraged after losing the first set to Aliaksandra Sasnovich in the final. Even when she went down a break in both the second and third sets, she maintained her composure. Her response was to focus on one point at a time.

Sorribes Tormo Still Plays Like Rafael Nadal

The Spaniard was rewarded for her determination and fight with her second career WTA singles title. Perhaps, this new perspective is already bearing fruit. There is life outside of tennis and she can be happy even if she is not playing tennis.
