American Kayla Day broke on the scene in 2016 at the US Open. As a former number one ranked junior, all eyes were on the American. That same year she was the junior US Open champion. Fast forward seven years later and she has broken through the top hundred ranking barrier by winning another ITF tournament.

It is always exciting to see what former junior number ones accomplish in their professional careers. Surprisingly, a top junior ranking does not often translate into success on the professional tour. In fact, quite a few have struggled to perform under the pressure of expectation.
