American Wimbledon Successes On Day 4
[4] Jessica Pegula had a much easier day at the office. She defeated Cristina Bucsa 6-1, 6-4. [10] Frances Tiafoe got past the qualifier, Dominic Stricker. Tiafoe won 7-6(11), 6-4, 6-2. Sofia Kenin is building on her first round upset of [7] Coco Gauff. She won her second round match against Xinyu Wang 6-4, 6-3. [16] Tommy Paul defeated former top ten player, Milos Raonic. Raonic won the third set, but Paul was not interested in losing the match. Paul won 6-4, 7-6(4), 6-7(4), 6-4.
Disappointment For American Fans
[9] Taylor Fritz led 2:0 sets, and the match was postponed to the next day. Unfortunately, for Fritz, he did not show up the next day. He lost 6-3, 6-2, 3-6, 4-6, 2-6. This is certainly a blow to the American; however, every experience, good or bad, can teach us a valuable lesson when we keep and open heart and mind.
