Will Nicolas Jarry Get Back To His Career High?

Nicolas Jarry

Nicolas Jarry had a promising career. He turned professional in 2014 and owns one clay court singles title. In 2019, he got to a career high of thirty-eight and he was on his way up. However, his career was derailed by an eleven-month drug suspension in 2019-2020.  Apparently, the culprits were “ligandrol and stanozolol found in vitamins made in Brazil” that he took.

Ligandrol Found in Urine Sample of Nicolas Jarry

Ligandrol is a non-steroidal selective androgen receptor modulator [SARM], which mimics the actions of anabolic steroids in the body. In essence it makes you more muscular and stronger. It has been available for use since 2015. It was mislabeled as a dietary supplement. That is why athletes need to read the ingredients and do a search to find out the mechanism of action. This substance is on the World Anti-Doping Association list of prohibited drugs.

Nicolas Jarry Suspended For Use of Stanozolol

This is a straight up androgen and anabolic steroid, which is a known performance enhancing drug. This drug has been around since the 1960s. Although is supposedly no longer available in the USA, it can still be found in a few countries. Now this is an interesting fact, because it means you have to go looking to find this drug.  As an athlete, why would you put any substance or pill in your mouth or body before making 100% sure that it is not a prohibited drug?
