While there were no ATP Tour events, the rankings of many players were still affected. This is due in part to the ranking system, where points fall off after fifty-two weeks. Also, despite the absence of events on the main tour, there were still ATP Challenger events going on, where points can be gained.
Sock And Pospisil Rocked Wimbledon in 2014
Vasek Pospisil is probably best remembered for his doubles victories. He and American Jack Sock were a dominant duo from 2014 to 2015. They claimed their first and only major title at Wimbledon in 2014. The Canadian got to a career high in singles of twenty-five, and then the wheels came off. The issue was the usual combination of injury and the effects of lost confidence.

Pospisil won his last doubles title in 2020 with Nicolas Mahut; however, the Canadian has still never won a singles title. How did his partner Jack Sock fare during Pospisil’s struggles? Jack Sock got to a career high of eight and won four singles titles. In fact, he had a very impressive 2017 season, winning the ATP Masters 1000 title in Paris. Then his wheels fell off, again due to injury.
Both Careers Have Been Derailed By Injuries
Now at thirty years old, with a ranking of one hundred and forty-one, Sock is trying to revive his career. How high will he climb, given the field has changed significantly in his absence? Only Sock knows the answer to this. The next question, will Pospisil finally win a singles title? I think not, at thirty-two, time has probably run out; however, he may surprise me.
Jack Sock Makes Winning Return In Dallas
This week Sock is playing in the Dallas Open. There were moments of brilliance, and then there were moments when his lack of match toughness was evident. He had the lead in the third set and then had to battle hard to recover and win the match. He defeated Roman Safiullin 7-6(2), 4-6, 6-4.
