Borna Coric started his run in Cincinnati, with the three-set defeat of Rafael Nadal in the second round. This was his only three-set match of the tournament. Coric continued his impressive run to capture his first ATP Masters 1000 title. His rewards beside the joy of victory and money, his ranking is back up to twenty-nine.
Borna Coric Ranked As High As Number 12
This was a great victory for the Croatian who started off red-hot when he turned professional in 2013. Like so many players, he was derailed by injury. In his case it was right shoulder injury. It is nice to see him healthy and competing at his highest level, which has always been one of his strengths.

You know a player is on his game when he defeats three top ten players en route to the title. After Nadal in the second round, it was Felix Auger-Aliassime in the quarterfinals, and then it was Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final. How high will Coric end this season?

ATP & WTA Top 10 Rankings
ATP: Andrey Rublev fell out of the top ten. He was replaced by Cameron Norrie. Norrie comes in at #9 this week. Stefanos Tsitsipas and Casper Ruud traded places to #5 and #7 respectively. WTA: there were no changes in the top ten members. Aryna Sabalenka and Simona Halep traded places to #6 and #7 respectively. The top four members are: [1] Iga Swiatek; [2] Anett Kontaveit; [3] Maria Sakkari; and [4] Paula Badosa.
