I always enjoy writing about the fabulous Fabio Fognini. I get the impression that he really does not care much about what is said or not said about him. His attitude is what makes him a dangerous opponent when his game is on.
Fognini Gets Pumped For Rafael Nadal
I also never get the impression that Fabio Fognini is 100% invested in his matches. If he feels like it, he will play well. Yet, I always sensed that he had a passion to beat Rafael Nadal every time they played each other. I could be wrong.
Fabio Fognini Is The Mover Of The Week
Fognini gets the mover of the week honors, and it’s not for a positive reason. The thirty-four-year-old, once ranked in the top ten at number nine, has fallen out of the top fifty. He has not won a title since claiming the Monte Carlo Rolex Masters title in 2019.
Injury And Age Impacting Fognini’s Game
As the years pass, it becomes tougher and tougher to win titles. The mind, body, and soul are tired. Frankly, to mount and sustain the energy required to compete at the level required to win diminishes for most players. Will Fabio Fognini win another title before he retires? I do not think that the Italian even has the answer to this question.

ATP: there were no changes in the top ten. The top four players are still: [1] Novak Djokovic; [2] Daniil Medvedev; [3] Alexander Zverev; and [4] Rafael Nadal.
WTA: there were minimal reshufflings amongst the top ten members. The top four members are: [1] Iga Swiatek; [2] Barbora Krejcikova; [3] Paula Badosa; and [4] Aryna Sabalenka.
Top 4 American Men & Women
Taylor Fritz leads the way at number thirteen. Reilly Opelka comes in second at number seventeen. John Isner takes the third spot at number twenty-four, with Frances Tiafoe in the fourth spot at number twenty-nine. The last American man to be in the top ten was John Isner on May 27th back in 2019 at number ten.
