Mover Of The Week: Jiri Lehecka
Twenty-year-old Jiri Lehecka gets the mover of the week honors with his impressive showing in Rotterdam. He played as if he was used to being in the top hundred, until the reality hit in the semifinals. He could have had a much different outcome, if only he had believed.
Lehecka’s Impressive Showing In Rotterdam
He had the number one seed, Stefanos Tsitsipas, against the ropes and then he blinked. Jiri Lehecka will take a lot from this tournament and hopefully he will come back stronger in his next event. The Czech turned professional in 2020; thus, getting to the semifinals of an ATP 500 event, is an excellent showing. He’s probably one to keep an eye on in the changing landscape of men’s professional tennis.

ATP & WTA Top Ten Rankings
ATP: there were no new members or changes in the top ten. Novak Djokovic is going strong at #1.
WTA: there were some reshufflings amongst the top ten members. Anett Kontaveit is at a career high ranking at #6, and Ashleigh Barty remains at #1. Interesting side note, all the women in the top ten are in their twenties.

[17] Taylor Fritz leads the way. [20] Reilly Opelka comes in at number two. [23] John Isner and [34] Frances Tiafoe take the third and fourth spots respectively on the men’s side. The last American man to be in the top ten was John Isner in May 2019.
On the women’s side, [11] Danielle Collins leads the way. [14] Jessica Pegula comes in at number two. [20] Cori “Coco” Gauff is number three and [27] Madison Keys takes the fourth spot.
FYI: Serena Williams is currently ranked #242 and Venus Williams is ranked #466. Question of the year: How many of you think that the Williams sisters are done with tennis?
