Who Knows If Novak Djokovic Will Play At The Australian Open?

Novak Djokovic’s Medical Exemption

What could be the medical reason that would allow him to be exempt.  I asked the question of two medical doctors, and I was told, “there are no medical reasons for exemption from the vaccination.”   After pressing them a little, they modified their responses by saying you have to have a documented allergy to a component of the vaccine.  Does Novak Djokovic have a known allergic response to a component found in the vaccines? Seems like the controversy created some waves. After a court battle, the Serb has been admitted into the country to play at the 2022 Australian Open. However, that has apparently changed as his visa has been revoked [1/14/2022].

Naomi Osaka Is Back On The Tennis Court

After stepping away from tennis last year, before the season ended, Osaka is back on the courts and looking leaner. Has she dealt with the issue or issues that impacted her health last season? To us outsiders, she may appear healthy; yet, we know getting mentally healthy requires time.  It requires doing the work daily to heal the psyche and learning how to cope better emotionally and stay mentally fit. In a world, where there is often excessive demands, athletes often have another level of expectations placed on them. I hope she is continuing to maintain her daily healthy mental routine for she is such a gifted athlete, and I would love to see her continue to perform at her highest level for as long as she can.

American Sofia Kenin Has Not Been Forgotten

Once ranked in the top ten and also the surprise 2020 Australian Open champion, many Americans hoped that she would be the next “thing.” However, like many athletes before her, injury and illness has hampered Sofia Kenin’s career. She is back, but is she emotionally, mentally, and physically fit enough to win the Australian Open? Most players step on court believing they will win; however, one must be realistic. She has been injured and is probably not fit enough to compete at the level required to win a major. Still, we should never discount her desire and determination.

Rafael Nadal Post Positive Coronavirus Scare

Rafael Nadal is in Australia, will he play at the Australian Open? All information says yes he we will, but questions remain. How fit is the king of clay, physically and mentally? After a rather taxing, both physical and mental, 2021 season, will he be fit enough to compete at the level required at a major. Only Nadal and his team has the answer to those questions. Amidst the continuing covid concerns, many players are opting out of the first major of the season. Sadly, tennis has lost some of it’s appeal because many of the top players are ill, injured, or simply boycotting events due to the strict covid mandates in many countries. Nadal fans are hoping he can start the year with a big win in Australia.

  1. I don’t believe for one minute that Novak is alergic to anything to do with the vaccine…..they just make allowances for whomever they want to make allowances for and I think it stinks!!!

I, too, hope that Osaka is ready mentally for the challenge…..I know she’s fit physically but I have my doubts about her mental status that she’s truly rid of her issues!!

I look forward to seeing Nadal back on the court and I hope that he can give everybody….at least…..a run for their money.

    1. Interesting observations. I too hope that Rafa can take this one, hoping that it’s not too late for the humble giant.
