Carlos Alcaraz, the pressure is on this eighteen-year old’s shoulders. Spain would love to see another Rafael Nadal, but guess what, there is only one Rafael Nadal. We know from history how expectations can inspire or destroy a player’s confidence and game.
Mover Of The Week: Carlos Alcaraz
He is in the top hundred for the firs time in his young career. He declared his professional status in 2018 and has shown and is showing that he has the game and even the mental fortitude to perform on the big stages. The question is not if he will win a title, but how soon. His idol won his first professional title at the age of eighteen, so the pressure is on. At eighteen, Carlos Alcaraz is the youngest player in the top hundred on the ATP Tour.
The Hardest Thing For Alcaraz
The hardest thing for this young player will be to avoid focusing on the expectations of the world. Instead, he should focus on establishing a solid foundation; get psychologically and physically strong. Be mentally and physically fit enough to adapt to the changes on and off the tennis court. Once he has established that, the results on the tennis court will come.
