MOVER OF THE WEEK: Daria Kasatkina

Daria Kasatkina mover

What a difference a year makes in the ranking of a tennis player. In 2018, Daria Kasatkina won the title in Moscow and was ranked in the top ten. Fast forward to 2019 and Kasatkina is currently ranked a lowly seventy. She is the biggest mover of the week in the top hundred because she lost in the first round and was unable to defend her title in Moscow.

It must be such a blow to the psyche when your ranking drops so drastically. One can only image the thoughts going through her mind and the emotions she must be wading through now. Yet, the Russian is just only twenty-two, and has enough time to figure things out and get her ranking back up into the top ten if that is her desire. Of course, she has to stay healthy to accomplish her goals and she can use the off season to reassess her career goals and get back in shape for the 2020 season, which is just around the corner.
