SIGNIFICANT RANKING CHANGES FOR THE WEEK OF 10.15.2018
The mover of the week honors go to the eighteen year old Ukrainian, Dayana Yastremska. She was ranked 102 before the Prudential Hong Kong Tennis Open tournament started and won it without dropping a set. Although her opponent, Qiang Wang, may have been a tad exhausted from her battle in the semifinal round against Garbine Muguruza, the Ukrainian still had to win it despite the score line (6-2, 6-1). Yastremska played with composure for most of the match; however, she got a little nervous serving for the match, which was understandable. Keep an eye on this young Ukrainian, she is definitely ready for the big stage and I will be quite curious to see what she accomplishes in her professional career.
