ATP & WTA Top 100 Comparison

Comparison Analysis

A COMPARISON BETWEEN THE TOP 100 ON THE ATP AND WTA TOURS

There are thirty-five (35) players who are thirty years or older on the ATP Tour and nineteen (19) on the WTA Tour. In the twenty-five year old to twenty-nine year old bracket, both the ATP and WTA Tours have forty (40) players. The WTA Tour has thirty-six (36) women between the age of twenty and twenty-four; while the ATP only has twenty-three (23) men in this age bracket. Both Tours have few players below twenty; there are two (2) men and five (5) women. What can we make of this data? Clearly, more men are playing tennis in their thirties; however, these statistics can change weekly as players win or lose tournaments, so perhaps much should not be made of these numbers.
