SIGNIFICANT RANKING CHANGES FOR THE WEEK OF 08.13.2018
Outside of the four majors, the Masters 1000 events are great opportunities to gain significant ranking points if you can go deep in the draw. Ilya Ivashka did exactly that; he came through the qualifying rounds and made it all the way to the quarterfinals of the Rogers Cup before losing to Kevin Anderson. His reward is a career high ranking and our mover of the week. Ivashka would like to take this form into the last major of the season with hopes of further improving his ranking.

ATP TOUR: the top ten members remained the same; however, there were two positional changes. Alexander Zverev moved down one spot to #4 and Juan Martin Del Potro replaced him at the #3 position. Rafael Nadal remains atop the ranking and distanced himself from Roger Federer when he won the Rogers Cup title.
WTA TOUR: the top ten members remained the same; however, there were a lot positional changes. The top four players maintained their exact positions from the previous week. Caroline Garcia and Karolina Pliskova both moved up one spot to #5 and #8 respectively. Petra Kvitova moved up two spots to #6. Elina Svitolina and Garbine Muguruza both fell two spots to #7 and #9 respectively. Simona Halep remains atop the rankings and by capturing the Coupe Rogers title; she has distanced herself from Caroline Wozniacki.
