SIGNIFICANT RANKING CHANGES FOR THE WEEK OF 06.18.2018
Paolo Lorenzi gets the honors of mover of the week; however, the honors are bitter-sweet because his ranking has fallen and continues to slide after a string of early round losses. He lost in the first round of Quito, Marrakech and Budapest. These are all tournaments where he had points to defend. Last year he was a finalist in Quito, a quarterfinalist in Marrakech, and a semifinalist in Budapest. To compound his situation, the ATP Challenger title that he won in Caltanissetta last year, he was unable to defend, also losing in the first round. The clay court season is his favorite; however, he has not had the results so far this season. Lorenzi will be trying to rebound at the upcoming clay court tournaments otherwise his ranking may drop even further if he fails to make up the deficit soon.
