Congratulations to the three first time champions: Roberto Carballes Baena, Mirza Basic and Frances Tiafoe.
OF NOTE: Elina Svitolina defended her title in Dubai and Petra Kvitova won two titles this month and is back in the top ten.
After her left hand injury, Kvitova probably had doubts, doubts that she could recover fully to be the threat on the WTA Tour that she once was. She has proven that she is back and ready to threaten for the top position and winning two significant titles this month will certainly help her cause. She was once ranked number two and no doubt she will like to get back to that position and possibly surpass it.
