Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters, Monaco
Doubles Final: Bruno Soares and Jamie Murray vs. Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut
The day started off poorly. Rain wanted to ruin the finals; however, after about thirty to forty-five minutes, play got underway.
Murray and Soares won the first set 6-4. The French team was a bit slow warming up in the wet conditions and would have to win in three sets if they wanted to hoist their third consecutive Masters’ title. They are brimming with confidence and it showed in the second. There was no sign of discouragement after losing the first set and they ran away with the second 6-0.
The super-tiebreak also went their way; despite a valiant effort from their opponents. Herbert and Mahut won 4-6, 6-0, 10-6 and maintained their perfect winning record in Masters titles for the 2016 season.
