[CR10] Grigor Dimitrov (BUL) vs. [CR169] Ryan Harrison (USA)
Harrison had never beaten Dimitrov, so understandably he was not relishing the idea of playing him today. However, there were two factors in Harrison’s favor: Dimitrov had the added stress of being the defending champion; and lately, his form has been questionable.
Yet, despite losing the first set, I was convinced that Dimitrov would find a way to turn things around. It appeared as if he had when he won the second set. The test came in the third, when he needed to focus and grind out the win, Dimitrov caved. Harrison gets not only the victory 7-5, 4-6, 6-0; he gets his first victory over a top ten ranked player and he does it in style. Will this be the boost in confidence that Harrison needed?
