Agnieszka Radwanska lost her match against Garbine Muguruza for two reasons: Radwanska’s level of play dropped, maybe a result of mental or physical fatigue; and Muguruza’s level of play increased. The first set Muguruza could not keep the ball in play and she lost most of the rallies with a slew of unforced errors. However, in the subsequent sets, she played more consistently, but more importantly, smarter tennis.
Although when she lost that lead in the second set, I thought Radwanska would win since she had won their two previous encounters. Yet, that is the beauty of tennis; the match is not over until the final ball is struck. Muguruza wants it known that she is a player to be reckoned with and she will not be satisfied with a few sporadic wins; she wants the titles.
