Round Robin, Day 6: [CR1] Novak Djokovic (SRB) vs. [CR7] Tomas Berdych (CZE)

Why is Berdych having such a hard time elevating his game?  Has he peaked and this is the best that he can ever be?  He has the mechanics yet he lacks versatility and perhaps belief.  I have followed him for a while and was always curious why he has not won a major.  Now Berdych is showing his fans why he has failed to win a major, he is not capable of taking his game up to that level consistently required to hoist a major trophy.

These losses can only further erode Berdych’s confidence.  It also reflects poorly on the level of men’s tennis when members of the elite eight are being so soundly beaten in their matches.  Berdych served poorly and continued as before, making too many casual errors.  It was another pitiful display by Berdych and he has to be wondering what if anything he can do differently.  Meanwhile, Djokovic notches another easy victory 6-2, 6-2 and clinches the year-end number one ranking.
