BNP Paribas Masters, Paris
[CR1] Novak Djokovic (SRB) showed a little rust in his game from his time off, but it was not enough to prevent him from winning the match 6-3, 6-4 against [CR24] Philipp Kohlschreiber (GER). He served for the first set, but Kohlschreiber fought him off with a few well-placed shots; unfortunately, it was only a temporary reprieve as Djokovic served it out his next game.
Kohlschreiber appeared to be the player who had taken the time off as his backhand misfired too often and he was repeatedly late getting to the ball. It was not a good match for Kohlschreiber and when he plays this poorly, you question his level of commitment, especially when he seems so indifferent.
