Battling the weather as well as Djokovic

US OPEN

Men’s Semifinal: [CR1] Novak Djokovic (SRB) vs. [CR11] Kei Nishikori (JPN)

Nishikori defeated both with his laser-like forehands, focused play on serve, and lethal returns.

Can Nishikori continue his stellar play to win his first Major?

He has the talent, the fitness and is being coached by Michael Chang, a player who redefined tenacity.

Djokovic could not solve the puzzle of Nishikori. His reliable serve and powerful groundstrokes deserted him when he needed them most.  He was frazzled not only by the heat but also by Nishikori’s consistent play.  He fought valiantly; however, he could not thwart Nishikori’s determination to win.  Nishikori won 6-4, 1-6, 7-6(4), 6-3, to advance to the US Open Final.
