Men’s Semifinal: [CR8] Grigor Dimitrov (BUL) vs. [CR15] Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (FRA)
Tsonga defeated Dimitrov 6-4, 6-3. The result was not unexpected given the fact that Tsonga had won all three previous encounters. What is surprising are the players he defeated prior to Dimitrov, maybe Tsonga is tired of hearing how he has so much talent and he has underperformed; or maybe he is simply just tired of losing matches he should have won. His last tournament victory came in February 2013, that is a long time to go without a title, especially for a player of his caliber.
Whatever the reason, it is nice to see the hard serving Frenchman finally putting together a string of impressive victories. It is doubly exciting given the tough field of players one encounters at an ATP Masters 1000 event.
