[CR1] Serena Williams (USA) was her lethal self once again.  Her recent break seems to have refreshed her and given her a boost of energy.  Or maybe it was simply as she stated:  “I am relaxed and enjoying tennis again”.

I wonder though about the state of Serena’s psyche, recent evidence has shown that she seems to buckle under the pressure when she is expected to win, particularly at the Majors.  I hope this trend does not continue as the last Major of the year is rapidly approaching and everyone, once again, is picking Serena to take home the US Open trophy and claim her 18th Major Tournament trophy.

However, I do not want to take away any of the spotlight from this victory. There just was not much that [CR 21] Samantha Stosur (AUS) could do.  Serena was determined to not let Stosur have any illusions about another upset and she quickly quashed any hopes that Stosur may have had, trouncing her rather easily, 6-0, 6-2, in under an hour.
