August 8th, 2010 was the date Svetlana Kuznetsova won her last tournament.  It was at the San Diego Tournament, she was ranked 21 and she defeated Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland who was ranked 10.

[CR 26] Svetlana Kuznetsova (RUS) can finally breathe a sigh of relief.  Kuznetsova won the Citi Open, Washington DC tournament, defeating [CR40] Kurumi Nara (JPN), 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.  Despite the loss, Nara will benefit from making it to the final, and her ranking will rise to 33.

Kuznetsova, once a dominant player on the Women’s Tour, has seen her ranking decline due to inconsistency in her play.  She has been struggling with her game; whether it was physical or psychological, the result was the same.  However, all her hard work and perseverance paid off in her win on Sunday, August 3rd, 2014 and her ranking will rise to 23.
